Teen Justice

Trinity followed the mental map she had in her head and headed downward into the base. She knew exactly where the device was since she had been there before. She remembered the mission and couldn’t help but smile. ‘Man I pissed off alot of people that night,’ she thought.

She reached the end of the air duct and prepared to jump out. A security detail passed and she opened the grate to look down into the room. It was large and open with many scientists running around a big machine. She also noticed the many Cobra agents that were guarding it.

‘This is gonna be fun,’ she thought. She waited for a detail to pass and she dropped down into the room. She moved quietly without being seen. She moved closer to the device to try and disarm it. She finally got to the machine and crouched down behind it. She rested her hand on it and tried to link up with it.

The technology certainly was different. She began messing with it, trying to shut it down. She was almost finished when she felt a gun against the back of her head. “Step away from the machine.”

‘Almost done,’ she ignored it.

He hit her with it and caused her connection to break. She stood and hit him back in to the wall. She turned to find that she was surrounded by five guards with guns. “Hands in the air.”

She begrudgingly put her arms up and waited until they were close enough to begin fighting. She struck out at them quickly, knocking them to the ground before they could get a shot out. As she turned to head back to the machine she was struck from behind and roughly put into handcuffs. She heard a voice right by her ear, “Ah Trinity, it’s nice to see you again. Tho this time you won’t escape.”

She looked up to see Cobra and smiled, “Still sore from the last time I saw you?” He motioned to his guards who roughly pulled her up. He walked over and slapped her across the face.

“Be happy that I don’t kill you here and now. But, there is someone who wants to see you, and I can’t dissapoint him. Besides, I imagine you aren’t here alone. So I guess we have to start the process early.” He motioned for them to start the machine but it wouldn’t start.

Trinity laughed, “Oh come now, you know I have too much fun at your parties.”

“How long will it take to get it ready?” he screeched at the scientists.

“Give us ten minutes.”

“You have five.” He turned back to Trinity. “I would love to be the one to punish you, but I think you’ll have more fun with Ras.” Trinity froze, “What did you just say?” Cobra smiled, sensing her fear. “Oh yes, you heard me correctly. Ras and I keep in touch and he told me to keep an eye out for you. He can’t wait to get his hands on you.” Trinitys face went from sheer terror to pure anger. She lunged for him but the guards punched her in the gut and hit her in the back causing her to fall. Cobra laughed, “Take her. Then we must find the other rats.”

Trinity followed the mental map she had in her head and headed downward into the base. She knew exactly where the device was since she had been there before. She remembered the mission and couldn’t help but smile. ‘Man I pissed off alot of people that night,’ she thought.

She reached the end of…

Quinn flew over the compound and suddenly something grabbed her out of the air and was pulling her down to the ground. “Quinn?’

“Superboy?” She stopped them both before he laid her flat into the ground. “Where is everyone else?”

“Out there, why are you here?”

“To save Trinity. She seperated from Robin and Aqualad. Now Cobra has her.” Quinn looked down at the factory building. “Where can I get in?”

“The best way is the front door.” Superboy jumped down and Quinn followed. Superboy bashed threw the wall and Cobra men began to shoot at the both of them, but Superboy deflected the bullets away from Quinn.

“Will you be okay?”

“Yeah.” Superboy nodded his head at her and then jumped at the men. Quinn surrounded herself with a forcefield and then floated away to the way her map was showing Robin and Aqualad were. “You’re not going anywhere?”

“Go!” She heard Artemis behind her and the tang of her quiver shooting off arrows. Kidflash then took out the rest of them. “Yeah Go!”

Quinn landed in front of a metal computerized door and landed in front of it. She closed her eyes and placed her hand against the surface of the door and began to absorb the energy. She knew this would take several minutes.

She was focused on the door, but when one of the cobra man came at her silently she pushed off the door and knocked into him with all her strength. This sent the guy to the ground and she turned and through her fist into his stomach knocking him unconscious. She then returned to the door and began to absorb the energy until the door was completely drained. She took a step back and focused her energy in her hand and threw it at the door, blowing the door to pieces.

Just when the dust was clearing a stream of water wrapped around her pulled into the room and she landed on the floor with Aqualad above her. “Quinn?”

“Hi.”

“Bio Ship to the Cave, Trinity has gone off on her own. We still don’t know what might set that device up. Request backup.” Quinn looked at Hal across the room. “Okay received.” Hal looked down at Quinn. “You should probably stay here, since you still need training.”

“Why? Isn’t the best training done out in the field?”

“This isn’t a petty theif we are talking about we are talking about the Cult of the Cobra. They don’t hesitate to kill.”

“I can handle it Hal.”

Hal looked down and saw her determination. “Batman is gonna kill me.” He nodded down to her. “Go, we’ll follow after you when we meet with the league.” Quinn smiled and changed into her costume and flew out of the cave to the coordinates that Hal had given her.

Trinity sat quietly on Megan’s ship in the corner. She listened as Aqualad went over the mission. “The League suspects Cobra posesses some sort of interdimensional device. We are to confirm or disconfirm this with recon. If we gain knowledge of this then we are to inform the Leauge. And if we find nothing, we leave.”

“What’s the point of going to check it out if we aren’t going to do anything about it?” Superboy asked.

“It’s League business,” Aqualad replied.

“You guys just get to do their dirty work,” Trinity interjected.

“We’ve had missions where we get to do things,” Megan tried to defend.

Trinity smiled, “Maybe it’s jobs they didn’t want to do.”

“Either way,” Aqualad spoke louder, ending the argument, “we have our orders. Megan, initiate a mental link with everyone.”

“No thanks, keep me out of it,” Trinity said.

“If you are going to be on the team for this mission, you will follow my orders.”

Trinity rolled her eyes, “Whatever.” Megan connected them and prepared to land at the Cobra base.

““““““““““““““““`

“There is an underground tunnel that we can infiltrate to get info. Robin, Trinity and I will go in the tunnel to abstract info. Megan, I want you to stay in the ship to be prepared for a quick extraction. Artemis and Kidflash, you’ll be around the facility, invisible, keeping an eye out in case we trip something. Superboy, you’ll find a high point and keep us informed of security details. Keep an on us and make sure we don’t run into anything.”

“Trying to keep an eye on me?” Trinity asked nonchalantly.

“Batman informed me you’ve been here before. You’ll act as our map.”

Trinity’s eyes narrowed, “Oh did he now?” She sighed, “Let’s get a move on. A security detail will be passing soon. It’s best to get ahead of them.”

They quickly entered the base and began to descend. ‘There is a control room two floors down, but we have to get passed the guards stationed around it,’ Trinity said mentally.

‘Superboy, tell us what we’re up against.’ Aqualad asked.

‘You have a security detail coming up the stairs and four guards outside of the control room.’ He replied.

Robin tapped their shoulders and pointed up. Above them was an air duct. Aqualad pulled the grate down and they climbed up into it. They then headed for the control room. They went throught the maze and finally got to the control room. They looked down to see two guards inside. Robin dropped a pellet and smoke engulfed the room, knocking them out.

They dropped down and Robin began to hack the computers. Trinity linked her mind with the computer and began searching for information. “Anything?” Aqualad asked.

“Are you kidding me? They not only have one, but it’s operational and ready to go,” Robin said.

“And I can’t shut it down from here,” Trinity said. “I have to get closer.”

“Negative. We leave and inform the League. They will handle this.”

Trinity sighed, “Fine. Let’s get out of here. When these guards wake up they aren’t going to be very happy.”

They climbed back into the duct, Trinity last. They began to head back outside. As the got closer, Trinity began to fall back and soon veered off from the others without them noticing. Robin and Aqualad got back outside to find that Trinity wasn’t behind them.

‘Trinity! What are you doing?’ Aqualad asked angrily.

‘Taking care of business. Don’t worry, I’ll have this taken care of in a few minutes. Go ahead and contact the League, but I’m not going to let them activate that device. Trinity out.’

‘Trinity. Trinity!’ She didn’t reply. ‘Megan, contact the League and let them know what has transpired.’

*Communication class Summary*

(Batman sent the team on a mission while Quinn remains at home training with green lantern)

Black Canary looked at the team and smiled. “Good. Now let’s just start out. Quinn. You first.” Quinn looked at the team and then back at Black Canary. “I…. I don’t know how to fight.”

“Well you’re in the right place. Here, we’ll teach you how to fight.”

“Okay.” She approached Black Canary.

“First thing you always want to know in combat is your strengths and weaknesses. Use them to your advantage. Also, know your surroundings, it’ll come in handy. Now I’m going to throw a couple of punches, try to block them.”

Black Canary threw a few punches and Quinn blocked them almost effortlessly. She decided to push her and continued coming at her, making it harder. She lunged, leaving herself open on purpose and Quinn retaliated, knocking her back.

Black Canary smiled, “Good, you do know how to fight.”

Black Canary took this chance to attack her again and threw a kick at her, but Quinn ducked and kicked her standing foot on the ground out from under her.

“Oh sorry. I just…” Quinn scooted back and took a deep breath. “I don’t know how i did that.”

“You have been taught to fight already. Your subconscious is taking over for you. Muscle memory if you will. Excellent reflexes.”

Quinn stood up and began to leave the room. “Please excuse me.”

“You’re not getting off that easily,” Black Canary said. “Split off into groups and spare with one another. I don’t care the pairs, just choose.”

Trinity easily got out of the handcuffs and crossed her arms watching them train, ‘I shouldn’t be here..’ she thought.

Kalder took Quinn’s hand. “Hey, you can’t leave training.” Quinn turned to him. “I just need a little…”

Kalder put both hands on her shoulders. “Quinn. If your scared it’s okay.”

She paused. “You think I’m scared?” She knocked his hands off her shoulders and threw her fists into his chest knocking him back.

Black Canary glanced around and saw Trinity sitting in the corner. “Hey, you! Why don’t you come and join us.”

Trinity shook her head, “I’m fine watching thanks.”

“What’s wrong? Scared you’ll lose?” Robin smirked.

Trinity glared and stood, “You’re gonna regret challenging me.”

“I’m not scared.” Kalder dodged her first punch but he missed her back hand and her kick.

Trinity watched him, anticipating his move. “Aren’t you going to attack?”

“Ladies first,” he smiled.

Trinity lunged towards him and they began in hand to hand combat. They seemed evenly matched.

Kalder caught her hands and turned her around and held her there. “Calm down.”

Robin feinted left and swung his foot around to knock her off her feet, but she jumped up and kicked him in the face, knocking him back. He recovered by doing a back handspring and ran towards her. They threw punches left and right, almost as if they were dancing.

“Let me go!” She kicked at the hall wall and Kalder lost his balance and fell back onto his back and landed with her on top. She kicked free from his grasp. “Please. I just don’t get it.”

Trinity finally found an openeing and punched him square in the chest, knocking the wind out of him. She then turned and kicked him, causing him to fly backwards onto the mat. “That, was for earlier.” She took a breath to regain her calm. She turned to Black Canary, “Good enough?”

“Not bad at all. Especially for just having been injured.”

They stopped and turned their attention to Quinn and Kalder.

Kalder got to his feet and held his hand out to Quinn. “Ready?”

She took his hand and stood. “Yeah.”

Quinn struggle with herself and felt the other’s eyes on her.

Trinity decided to help her out. “Why don’t you spare with me now. The rest of you go back to your training geez.” She walked over to Quinn and pulled her to a side of the room.

“What?”

“What’s wrong?” Trinity crossed her arms.

“I don’t know. Knowing how to fight and not remembering it makes me… angry.

“I can understand that. Let me give you a tip. You’re trying to resist remembering. When you’re fighting, instead of letting muscle memory take over, control it and remember how to fight.”

“it’s not that easy.”

Trinity smiled, “It never is. But don’t knock it til you try it. C’mon, practice with me. We’ll take it slowly, one step at a time.” She readied herself into a fighting stance.

Quinn took a stance and threw a punch knowing she was gonna dodge it.

Trinity side stepped and threw a punch back.

Quinn caught her fist and spun around threw her elbow into Trinity’s gut

Trinity latched onto her arm and stopped, “Stop. What did you learn?”

Quinn then felt a sharp pain in her head. ‘~what did you learn, if you disobey me you.` Suddenly a burst of energy emerged from her body and threw Trinity back from her.

Trinity flew into a wall and slid to the floor. She clutched her injured arm, “Ouch..” she sighed.

`~She can’t control it~ Get her into the pod!~` Quinn began to stumble and ran toward down the hall to get away from everyone. When she came into the bay halls and found the ship there she realized she had taken a wrong turn and another energy blast shot out from her body. “Ah! I’ve got to control it.” She ran and jumped into and another energy blast shot out. She landed in the water and felt the

cool water envelpe her and she could feel herself calm down.

Trinity and the others followed after her and Kalder jumped in after Quinn to help her. “You alright?” Robin asked Trinity. Trinity let go of her arm and smiled, “Yeah, I’m fine.”

Quinn felt Kalder’s arms around her and lift her to the surface. “Are you trying to kill yourself?”

“No. I just… Just put me back in the pod. I can’t do this. I can’t handle the combat and I can’t handle the power. I’m useless.”

“Don’t say that. You will learn. It will just take some time.” He helped her back onto the platform.

“I’ll probably hurt or worse kill someone in the process!”

Green Lantern walked over to her, “We won’t let that happen. We are here to help you.”

Quinn groaned when the light hit her eyes. Then reality hit her and she sat up quickly in the bed, but she didn’t see Aqualad above her and they smashed heads together. “OW!” Quinn shouted and held her head as she fell back into the bed. His hand touched the spot on her head that hit.

“Wait didn’t that hurt you?”

“Atlantean skin is quite dense.”

“Atlantean? Wait, do you mean atlantas?”

“Yeah.”

Quinn smiled and looked over at the other bed and saw the other girl. “Wait, when did she get here?”

“Last night. Here.” He handed her some gym sweats and a T-Shirt. “You’ll need this.”

“what for?”

“Training.” She turned to see Green Lantern come in the room. “You start after you change and have breakfast.”

“And here it is!” Megan came in and laid a tray of food on her lap. “I hope you like it.”

Trinity could hear the others in the room, but continued to seem asleep. She didn’t really feel like talking to anybody.

Quinn felt concious as she at her food. Her head was still hurting from hitting it was Aqualad. Megan stood there she guess to see if the food was good. “Okay enough, don’t want you puking in the middle of training.” A green light surrounded the food and it floated over to Megan. “Thanks.” Quinn said to Megan.

“No problem.”

After Quinn changed she found herself in the largest part of the cave and was looking down at a lightbulb on a table. “Touch it.”

She looked up at him like he was crazy. “You touch it.”

“You gonna fight me, because I don’t have all day. I know there is two Green Lanterns in this sector, but it’s a big sector.” Quinn nodded listening to his wordy conversation.

“But what is gonna happen?”

“You’ll see.” She looked up at him again and then down at the lightbulb and raised her hand out to it. She hesitated and felt like this was the first step into something she was going to really have to work hard to do. She touched the lightbulb with the tip of her finger.

“ummm. nothing is…”

Then the lightbulb began to flicker and she could feel the energy flowing into her body. “What?!”

“This is your power. You can absorb energy into your body and use it in ways you want to. Like my ring, I need to absorb the energy of the lantern and then I can use it with my will.”

“And your saying that my power is like that?”

“Yes, but at the moment we don’t know the limits of your power or the ways you can use your power. From last night we can see that you can make small energy beams and small energy bombs, but that is all we know so far. You may learn to use it differently.”

Trinity sat up after everyone left. She unwrapped her arm and stretched it out, pushing it to the limit. She stood up and headed to the door, peeking her head out. No one was in sight. She smiled and walked out, heading for the exit. “I’m back to strength now. I can take care of myself.”

She was able to sneak out without anyone noticing. She took to the rooftops and began to run, pushing herself to the limit. She stopped when she heard an alarm go off. She turned and looked down to see a bank robbery in progress. She could tell that there were hostages with five thieves.

“Well, I’m not getting paid, but it will be good practice to get me back into the kick of things.”

She jumped over to the roof of the bank and went through the ventilation system. She looked through the vents and saw the there were 4 hostages lined up against the teller wall with two guarding them. “The other three must be in the vault.”

She quietly removed the vent cover and hooked a rope. She slowly guided herself down behind them. Once she was close enough she slammed their heads into each other, knocking them out. She walked over to the hostages, “Go quickly, the police will help you once you get out.” They ran past her quickly.

She ran over to the vault and threw smoke bombs into it. She entered and took them out. Once the smoke cleared she saw there were only two on the ground. She heard a gun click and frowned. She turned and saw the last one standing just outside the vault. “Too bad hero,” he smiled and was ready to shoot.

Just as she was about to retaliate a batarang hit the thief’s hand, causing him to drop his gun. Ropes then wrapped around him and he fell to the floor. Robin walked in the doorway and smirked, “It seems my moves have improved. Is that good enough for our first date?”

Trinity glared, “I had him.”

“You weren’t fast enough.”

Trinity walked past him, “Whatever, bird boy.”

He grabbed onto her arm, “What are you doing here?”

Trinity shrugged him off, “What does it look like? I was helping those hostages. Now if you’ll excuse me, I have business elsewhere.” She turned just in time to block an attack from him. He didn’t stop and they fought through the bank. He used her weakness and hit her arm. She flinched and he used the opportunity and tackled her to the floor. He pulled her arms back and handcuffed them. “What are you doing?!”

“You’re supposed to stay at Mt. Justice, so I’m taking you back.” He threw her over his shoulder.

“Let me go!” she struggled.

An officer walked in the doors gun drawn, “Um, is everything alright?” he asked.

Robin looked at him and smiled, “It’s ok. This is just our first date.”

Trinity blushed and struggled in his grasp, to no avail. She soon found herself back at Mt. Justice. He walked into the training room where everyone was preparing for combat training. He sat her down on a chair in the corner, “Try to sneak off now.”
